The year 2015 has been a good one. We've gained a lot of new customers and the ones that have found us earlier have been active. We've had a chance to make some excellent ideas into inspiring images. That's basically all I can ask for - to have customers that take advantage of our potential.

The whole year has been filled with inspiring work. We've done a lot of portraits, a lot of product photography, a lot of corporate portraits, a lot of events and even some video. But there's two photoshoots that in my mind stand out as the crown for this year. The reason is that they were pure inspiration, traditional studio portraits, the models were packed with charisma, and there was all the space I needed for creativity. The first one is a photoshoot that I've written a blog about; "Making a Rough male portrait - In studio with Wallu Valpio"

The second one came to me as I was preparing for my summer holiday. I had already booked my flights for a week in England as my phone rang. The manager of H.I.M. called me and booked a photoshoot for their new promotional photos. The new drummer Kosmo was about to be presented to the world and the concert venues around the world needed new photos. I changed my week in England into a week in Helsinki preparing for the photoshoot. I asked the manager if they had any requests about the style of the photos. I got an answer: "The photos that you have on your site 'Making a Rough male portrait...', they look good, something like that."

I called my colleague Mika and asked him to help on this one. I also called my trusted make up artist Miia who naturally made room in her schedule for the photoshoot.

The photoshoot itself was quite a simple one. The band arrived in time, we had prepared the studio and once Miia had finished the make up, we simply started shooting.

I've seen the final photos in newspapers in Finland and on posters of concert venues around the world. I've also seen them on Instagram with countless variations of filters, added texts, symbols etc...

As the year reaches to its end, I'll be spending the last minutes of it at HELLDONE at Tavastia. And as the new year begins, I'll be toasting to it with H.I.M.
